You Are Beautiful

(a poem)

You are beautiful, you are strong

You are exactly where you belong

You are patient, you are kind

You’re neither late, nor falling behind

You are careful, you are brave

You are the one Jesus came to save

You are gentle, you are wild

You are the Father God’s beloved child

You are worth it, and you are sane

Even if nobody else thinks the same

Because you are beautiful, you are strong

Right now, you’re exactly where you belong

About This Poem:

Yo, fam!

This poem is one that the Lord gave me words for, to encourage me in this season - where it feels like I’m constantly rechecking with Him that he’s actually got a plan here.

I’ve had the joy of taking life step-by-step over the last year.

This has been a time full of opportunities for making scary, faith-building choices one after the next.

I’ve had no set plans because I felt to just follow him in the mystery.

MANY TIMES I’VE WONDERED IF I’M CRAZY…

Most times I have had more questions than answers.

But when other people have questions and I don’t have answers, it’s easy to take my eyes off of Jesus and to begin doubting his plans… even doubting his goodness.

One of my biggest struggles has been learning to care more about what Jesus says about my life than what others think about me.

I may not know the answers to their questions - because, heck, I don’t even have answers to mine - but I know that Jesus is in this with me.

HE KNOWS.

If you can relate to my story, remember that the words our Father speaks over us matter most.

Keep listening.

Knowing that you are in the center of His will is the most purposeful, liberating, and fueling place to be.

So, if you don’t feel that you are right where you belong… if you feel there’s more, I encourage you to seek the Lord.

He wants us to ask for his wisdom.

Fair warning, though:

He may not always say what you want to hear. But He does speak. He does lead. And His words over us are always words spoken out of love.

You can trust the Good Shepherd to lead you to exactly where you’re meant to be.
